I now have all 5 "Music From The OC" albums, as well as 233 additional songs that have appeared on the OC throughout the 3 seasons.

I'm still trying to complete my collection, and have listed the songs I am still missing here (http://www.sandstorming.com/doc/missingsongsfromtheoc.txt). If anyone has any of them, i would love it if you could upload them to rapidshare or (http://www.megaupload.com/). Megaupload is better because it doesn't limit the number of downloads a particular ip address can do. (Can't use p2p, as I'm stuck behind a college firewall.)

Of course, I'll also help out anyone looking for a particular song that I may have in my own collection.

This song begins the episode as Ryan realises he beat up Volchok pretty bad. You hear this song again when Volchok blackmails Ryan into being his lookout when he steals a car. Volchok tries to hotwire the car as Ryan yells at him that a patrol car is on its way. Volchok speeds off in the stolen car, and Ryan runs away from the scene.

For example, I tried to download "Cham Pain - Show Me" and it actually turned out to be "Mint Royale - Show Me (Featuring Pos From De La Soul)", a totally different song. I only managed to find the real name of the song I downloaded by googling the lyrics... but I digress.

I think that what Tones has set up here is one of the best ways of finding the songs: by discussing and sharing amongst other OC music enthusiasts. :D

Just write up a list of the songs you're after and i'll put them all into a zip file and upload at once, as opposed to individually uploading them one by one. If you could do the same with the ones I'm missing, that'd be very much appreciated :D. But whatever's easiest for you.

Also, a few notes about my missing songs list:

I remove from the list songs I already have (so if you're after a song from The OC, and it isn't in my missing list, it means I have it.)
I make sure I get the exact version of the song. eg. there is "Zero 7 - Destiny", but the one that played on The OC was "Zero 7 - Destiny (Photek Remix)" so that is the one I got.
I also make sure that I get the stand-alone version, and is not part of a bigger mix. eg. Most copies of "Girls Can Be Cruel" by Infusion I found were from "Ministry of Sound 2005 Annual" - a CD long DJ mix. It was much harder to find an original version of the song that started and finished properly.
I also try to get good quality copies of the song (ie. no radio rips, 128kbps or higher).

Yeah LimeWire is what's known as a peer-to-peer, or p2p program. There's no central computer that stores all the files, it just allows your computer to search and download from other computers using the same program around the world.

Your solution would work if I was connected to the internet at home. But I live at college, and connect to the internet through the college network. I can't change any of my internet connection settings (such as firewall, etc) because they are determined by the college network server. Security reasons and so forth. It kinda sucks. :mad:

Also, I recommend creating an exception in your firewall instead of turning it completely off. To do this with Windows Firewall, go to it in your Control Panel, then click the "Exceptions" tab up the top and select the programs you want to allow to have internet access (such as LimeWire). It's just a bit safer this way.

Yeah I saw that as well. The person who uploaded it must have bought and downloaded it off iTunes Music Store, without realising that it only allows the song to be played on their computer. There is a solution to this. They must burn the song to a CD through iTunes, then simply rip that CD back in mp3 format. Voilą! No DRM! (So please do that sparkl+oats4eva ;) )

I decided to go back and watch the episode that this was supposedly played in (108 - "The Rescue"), and it turns out it was never actually played. However, his "Mr. Rabbit" song was. Given the the track record of mistakes on the OC music lists, I'm not surprised.

To be honest, I've never consulted a list for Seasons 1 and 2. Last year I found some torrents that had collections of music for each season (89 from season 1, 147 from Season 2).

I waited around this summer for the same and when it didn't show up, I dug in and found some lists to use as a guide, and that's where I am now.

I should really take a look at 1&2. I may have songs others are looking for, but I have to warn the purists: I re-encode my mp3s at 128 to save space, and because I can't really tell the difference. This new season 3 stuff is all untouched right now from how I found it, but my Season 1 and 2 stuff is all 128 or lower (if it was lower when I found it, I leave it). Hey all, I'm new to this board and stumbled upon it after I decided to make me a OC CD :p
I've gotten a number of songs already, some of my favorites too but I'm still missing on a couple of songs I would really really like to get my hands on.
Dunno what they are called or by whom they are but I'll give a description of the scene where they play:
- season 2: episode 24: driving to and arriving at Caleb's funeral
- season 2: episode 24: Marrisa just pulled the trigger and shot Trey
- season 3: episode 15: funeral of Johny
The same song comes again in episode 15 towards the end, where Marissa puts Ryan's necklace away next to the one she got from Johny.
I didn't listen back but it might be that the first two songs I requested are also the same one. Not sure though, but they are about the same style.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
