babe Mischa Barton starting to cool on boyfriend Brandon Davis?
Some friends of the
couple say the London-born, New York-raised beauty is letting the
handsome oil heir down slowly.
"She wants
to take a break," one source tells us. "She wants
to focus on her career. Her parents and friends love him.
He's a great-looking rich guy. But she thinks he's too much
of a party boy."
Spies
took note that Barton wasn't at the April 22 Race to Erase M.S. benefit
for the foundation headed by Brandon's mother, Nancy Davis. The couple,
who recently celebrated their one-year anniversary, haven't been photographed
together since mid-March.
Other
friends insist that everything's fine: "Mischa couldn't make
it to the benefit because she had a late shoot on 'The O.C.' And she
had to fly off the next morning to Italy," where she's shooting
"The Decameron," with Hayden Christensen.
Since
then, we're told that Davis, 24, has flown over to see Barton, 19.
Some wonder if he's trying to hold the relationship together. Club-habitué
Davis - whose grandfather was oil billionaire Marvin Davis - is said
to be getting his act together. Having started to deal art, he's due
to graduate from USC this week.
"They're
still very much in love," maintains a pal.
