Neighbours graduate turned
pop star Delta Goodrem has reportedly agreed to appear on the hit
US teen drama The OC.
Delta - currently in the US
on album promotion duties - has been recruited by producers to play
the estranged Australian cousin of Marissa, Mischa Barton, on the
wildly popular series.
"We
have been looking at some scripts but as yet nothing has been
confirmed," she said.
"Music is a priority but there's
always other things happening."
Indeed there is.
As
Goodrem's star continues to rise, the role in The OC would see her
"it girl" status develop even further - and without even
having to drop the ocker Aussie accent.
Mama
Goodrem said her daughter was making ground as she attempted to
raise her profile in the US through radio spots and promotion of
her hit Aussie album Mistaken Identity.
"It's
a big place but she's doing very well," she said.
While Delta Goodrem is yet to become a household
name in the States, she appeared earlier this year in Fox drama
North Shore, which centred around the staff and guests of a fictional
resort in Hawaii.
In another development that could see Goodrem
propel herself onto the scene in Tinseltown, she is also being mooted
to play a castaway on a new series of Lost.
