It`s reported that
Mischa Barton is 'flirting' with leaving 'The O.C.' and ditching
Marissa Cooper, the troubled heroine of Fox TV`s teen drama.
Barton,
20, is said to be worried about the Thursday night show`s spiraling
ratings as well as being typecast as an out-of-control teenager,
Life & Style magazine reports.
Set insiders
say Barton calls in sick a lot and is habitually tardy for
work, the New York Post reported Wednesday.
Tucker`s other acting
experience was as the young lioness, Nala, in the Los Angeles
production of Disney`s 'The Lion King.'
'She`s
definitely flirting with leaving the show,' one source told Life
& Style. 'But the real problem now is that she isn`t taking
work seriously.'
Barton
has been with the show since its 2003 premiere.
A spokeswoman for the series` producer, Warner
Bros., said: 'We don`t comment on rumor or speculation.'
'The O.C.' averaged about 10 million viewers
in its first season but the number has dropped to about 5.4 million
this season.
