Mischa Barton is trading sunny California for
the humidity of Louisiana. The 18-year-old star of FOX's "The
O.C." has signed on to star in the horror thriller "Hexxx,"
according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The project, scripted by
Mark Gibson and John Raffo, centers on the ritualistic world
of voodoo in New Orleans.
MGM's Jennifer Klein will produce through her Apartment
3B Prods.
Barton, who is best known for playing the
oft-wasted waif Marissa Cooper on the teen soap "The
O.C.," has been seen in several films including "Notting
Hill," "The Sixth Sense" and "Lost and
Delirious."
