Tracks by Beck, Modest Mouse, the Futureheads,
Pinback and the Reindeer Section will be found on the fourth installment
of soundtracks from the hit Fox TV show "The O.C." Due
April 5 via Warner Bros., the set is led by the track "Scarecrow"
from Beck's upcoming album, "Guero," plus a cover of Oasis'
"Champagne Supernova" by indie rock act Matt Pond PA.
Modest Mouse contributes "The View"
from its 2004 Epic breakthrough "Good News for People Who Love
Bad News," while Pinback offers up "Fortress" from
its acclaimed Touch & Go release "Summer in Abaddon."
The Reindeer Section, an on-again, off-again project led by Snow
Patrol's Gary Lightbody, is represented with "Cartwheels,"
while singer/songwriter Sufjan Stevens donates "To Be Alone
With You."
Cuts from A.C. Newman, Imogen Heap, Flunk,
Aqueduct and Bell X1 round out the track list.
The three prior releases
under the "Music From the O.C.," all of which arrived
in 2004, have sold a combined 405,000 copies in the United States,
according to Nielsen SoundScan.
